Architect platforms and products completely ground up and/or by leveraging the Company’s product frameworks or IP and/or the design of proprietary systems of the Company’s customers.
We build platforms that address needs in areas like content authoring, content management and delivery (LMS), mobile solutions, adaptive learning solutions -
Machine Learning, content, and learning analytics based on educational data.
Collaborate and work closely with customers’ technology and product teams to create platforms that address core business needs, offer the best total cost of ownership, and scale well with the customer’s emerging business needs.
Work with and mentor development teams in implementing the proposed architecture. Perform architecture and code reviews with a keen focus on delivering very high-quality standards.
Keep track of various developments in the technology space in the areas of client-side technologies, cloud, databases, big data, and machine learning. Track and implement standards in the area of architecture, accessibility and education standards.
Qualifications
- BS preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 15 -18 yrs in technology-related roles including relevant work as a technical architect.
- Experience working with the latest software technologies, especially with Microsoft
- Technologies (.NET Core 6.0, EF, MVC/WCF/Web API, cloud-hosted Azure.
- Familiar with Front-end technologies with javascript frameworks like Angular or React.
- Strong experience with RDBMS (MS SQL/Oracle/Postgres/MySQL)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB etc) is good to have
- DevOps - Experience working with GIT/TFS, CI/CD setups, Application Monitoring, Logging, and Analysis tools
- Ability to understand existing system architecture, dependencies, and integration.
- Design enterprise-wide systems architecture and integration strategies across multiple platforms, technologies or software systems.
- Strong experience in designing and overseeing the development of distributed and loosely coupled system-especially working with Service and Micro-services Oriented Architecture
- Strong understanding of deployment using Kubernetes.
- Must have a good understanding of on-prem and cloud infrastructure used to deploy enterprise systems and must be able to present a POV to customers.
- Must have good experience in scaling an existing system to 2X or even 3X the current usage and load
- Experience working in an Agile-SCRUM environment using tools like Jira or equivalent.
- Strong customer-facing skills - Ability to present solutions, and trade-offs and consult clients on technology solutions and provide recommendations.
- Experience with effort estimations, creating architectural documents/diagrams/presentations and presenting to customers, addressing customer queries, and concerns, and getting the buy-in of customers.
- Ability to work with a team at a hands-on level - with Technical architects, Tech Leads, and developers to get to the bottom of code quality or deliverable issues.
- Trouble-shoot with teams for performance and other issues. Provide technical leadership and directions to the Development teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of employees ranging from entry-level to senior leadership.
- Proven strong relationship-building and communication skills with team members and business users. Ability to coach and mentor internal teams and customers.
- Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed, and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with teams located across geographies and time zones.
- Proficient in using standard software, such as MS Office applications, Google Apps, and communication and diagramming/presentation tools.
- TOGAF certification is preferred but not mandatory.
